Mullets become you

Oh dear Shad...headed to his Halloween party sporting a crafty brunette mullet and a transparent Bruins shirt. Does he seriously wonder why I'm sitting home and he's there?

1918 and Total Eclipse of the Heart

Well... they did it - after all those years and that awful curse the Red Sox won the World Series. I'm so happy it's over and I'm so glad for them and for Boston that they won. Why? because I will no longer be sleep deprived, at least from watching games till after midnight, and calling friends to discuss. This morning I tried to reason with Reilly. He, obviously, didn't stay up for the game so he woke at his normal time. I tried, with fervor, to get him to "rest" in bed with me - to no avail. It was one inquiry after the other, it was changing the channel from the Wiggles to VIDEO to Wiggles to VIDEO to Wiggles to VIDEO... not very restful, is it? After about 10 minutes of his commotion I realized rest was not going to be in my near future so I sent him down to wake Auntie Courtney. :-) I resigned to the fact that it was it time to get up and get ready for Shake Rattle and Roll.

Off we go....

UAL Seat 11D

Have you ever gone to the bathroom on a plane - in the proper cabin of course - and suddenly encountered turbulance? If yes, were you squatting at the time? If yes to that did you end up sitting? And if yes to that, did you fall on the seat - and was it wet! It happened to me on the plane yesterday and I had to return to my seat immediately. I wasn't sure how I would have handled that had I not had to return to my seat - but I likely would have tried to sterilize myself a little bit. At the very least the pants I was wearing will be washed - TWICE!

We returned to Milford at about 8pm - just in time to play with Reilly. We were fearful he might be mad at us since we had been separated for 4 days. He wasn't, he was totally excited and screamed and showed us his trucks and he showed Meredith that we were home (as if she did not know). :-) It was so good to see him, we missed him so much.

XF2

Reilly thought he was going on a field trip in the good ole XF 2 minivan yesterday. He would later learn, but not understand, that he was staying with Nannie and Grandpa for the weekend while Shad and I headed to the Bay Area for a wedding. We packed all of his creatures of comforts and sent Nannie away with enough stuff for a month - but hey you can never over-prepare. I had one request, as cruel as it sounds, I requested that when his face bruises from the incident at Cafe on the Oval I would like a photo for his baby book. Mother of the Year that I am! :-)

Cafe on the Oval

Ever think your two year old has logic when it comes to his own safety? Well, if so, don't. This morning I took Reilly out for breakfast so he could have his own belgian waffle. He told me he didn't want a high chair and he wanted to sit in the big chair. He was so convincing I believed that he was capable - mind you his head just cleared the top of the table. Not 10 minutes later there was a "BANG - THUMP" as his face smashed against the table top. It was one of those 30 second inhales before the outburst - poor guy! I took him outside right away because I knew the volume was going to be significant. It was. And, all he wanted was Daddy - ahhhhhh, thanks, but he's not here.

Finally we went back in to find his waffle and my omlette waiting for us. We spent the next 20 minutes shredding the waffle into tiny little pieces - from the high chair! hee hee hee

Now we're home, I have a conference call, so he's in bed with a big bump on his cheek bone. Once again, another sign of my self appointed title.

Until we meet again........

Shake Rattle and Roll

Ever forget to put deodorant on? Man... I hate that. So, as I sit here typing my arm is sticking to my torso and it's a most unpleasant feeling. ICK. Well, enough about me. As for the lil guy, sure was an ear infection. He's now taking cephzil 2x/day and he thinks it's candy. Hey whatever works. I don't like when he's sick - although the clingy nature is nice once in a while. Go Red Sox.

Another day is here, another pound will be gained. :-)

Why I'm not at work this afternoon.

I need to take Reilly to the md, he isn't feeling well. (Being a self-appointed mother of the year, I know now that when toddlers tug on their ear, hit their head, don't eat, are irritable and throw things at you that they likely have an ear infection). I know, not rocket science, but I'm not a rocket scientist either - so it all makes sense.

Until the next entry.....
